men this car isnt original, taking a GM motor and putting in a car and claimin its the fastest car is wack. If they have build there own engine then I would give them more respect. Any1 can just throw in a motor into a car but when they build the motor itself thats a different story. So thumbs down for me

At those speeds aerodynamics plays a massive part in overall top speed and vehicle stability though. From the few articles I read about the SSC they spent a LOT of time in wind tunnels getting the shape right. I agree that the record would have meant a bit more if they had used an engine of their own design, but IIRC Koenigsegg did the same thing with their CCX (using someone else's engine that is) then later with the CCXR they designed their own engine. Hopefully SSC will do the same. Just my .02 anyway...

2000lbs? That thing is heavy as balls. I think the new Koenigsegg CCXR will take the title back, and if that doesn't, than certainly the Caparo T1 will, if it qualifies as a production vehicle.
