Default $20/rotor for basic machining?

I stopped by a local tire shop and they quoted me $20/rotor for a basic clean-up machining. Did machining a set of rotors suddenly get complicated of is this the going rate these days??? This same shop charged $5/rotor 2 or 3 years ago. Inflation is a bitch, apparently! Anyone have a shop they would recommend?

Sounded kind of ridiculous to me too. $80 to turn some rotors, WTF? I'll have to track down a Pep Boys. Thanks all!

They are politely telling you they want to do the whole brake job. Fuckers.

Pepboys may have raised their prices...they used to charge $6 when I worked there a couple years ago.

I went in to get some tires mounted (used to cost $8 to mount and balance) and all of a sudden they, along with everyone else, want $20 to mount a tire. Ridiculous.
