Default Point of Synth Blend Oil from dealership?

Anytime I look at any service scheduling appointment bullets, I see some BS about synth blend oil. (I'm at 4500 miles now, nearing my 5k service...)

What makes this any better or worse than going full synth or just staying full regular...?

If I go full synth now will it affect me negatively in any way?

BTW, this is what it is:
This 5,000 Mile Service Includes:
- Full Circle Inspection
- Lube/Oil/Filter w/Syn Blend Oil
- Tire Rotation
- Tire Balance
- BG Fuel System Additive
- Road Test Vehicle
- Machine Wash Exterior

I only want them to add lube to my doors and locks, change my oil filter, rotate my tires and balance them, I don't want them doing anything else. ugh I don't know why some people let them do this stuff to their cars.

LOGIC? You seriously want to invoke logic in a conversation about fake hijackings, missiles hitting the pentagon, and bombs planted throughout the world trade center? I thought it was a given that logic was checked at the door when entering one of these threads.

Synthetic blend oil consists of MUCH more conventional oil that synthetic oil.. I think the % of synthetic oil in this mix is never more than 10% with the other 90% being conventional oil.

Basically the "blended" oil is made and sold to yield a larger profit for the makers of the oil.. Since they are charging much more for it, but it is mostly made with regular conventional oil.

Don't quote me on this, but I THINK that even when using the synthetic blend oil, it is reccomended to still do an oil change every 3k or 3 months. What does that tell you? It's far from synthetic..

You should be fine switching to FULL synthetic oil. Many makes use full synthetic as a factory fill. I don't see why there would be a problem there.
