imo the knockoff plates are lame. the only reason it would be cool to even have the real one is if it meant something to you, like a friend had given it to you as in some peoples cases i know. it's all stupid though, all these stupid little fads like the jdm air fresheners and the stupid wakaba decals and bubble knobs. it was interesting when there was a handful of people that had them, but now that everyone and there rican brother has one it's lost it's appeal imo. this is coming from someone who has owned all of the above parts minus the wakaba decal too lol. the first crappy fake jdm plate i gave away after a while and the one that came on my civic got taken off before i even got it home and given away.
