Default question about wheel offset..

ok so as a few of you know, i'm getting a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ in 2-3 days.

it already has some Racing Hart wheels/rims on it, but I wanted to know if I could use my Konig Prophets some day.

the specs for the Konig's are::

size - 18x7.5
and 4x114.3 spacing.

i'm just not sure about the offset. would i need to find out what the offset is to make sure it is completely compatible? or is it already obvious what the offset is??

they are wrapped in 235/35R 18 Kumho Ecsta ASXs

i already know it will be a tight fit, but it would be cool to see how they look.

thanks for the help!

also, they came in the mail mounted and balanced with the little weights.

if i switch cars, would that have to change? is the balancing only good for the car that i originally purchased them for (1990 Honda Accord LX)

yes they'll fit...and offset doesnt have anything to do with compatibility...just how it looks

its a FWD meaning really low offset or negative offset wheels will stick out past the fenders

offset does matter, in so far as hitting fenders or suspension.

That 7.5 width is a FWD design, so it'll likely fit with no issue though

+1 John.

But test fitting is the only true way to know if something fits.

Sometimes I make spacers to move wheels away from
suspension uprights, and some wheels can't be moved outward
1.because the owner set the car down too low, and 2.the rim width is too great causing the tires to rub inside the fenders.

Another factor is that body lean with the tire being turned
will sometimes cause rubbing.

But thankfully I can solve any problem................
----------
most tire places know how to look up a stock tire size on a
stock rim on a stock suspension car, and not all cars
fit that category. -Bob
