Tire Question : poll.
So I've got some Hankook RS Z212's on the back of my protege that have been there for about 20K. I've gotta say that the insides are at least 1/2 worn if not on their way to 2/3rds. The tires that came on the front of the car are definately gone and need replacement.
I'm trying to decide if I buy 4 new tires of a nominal performance level (aka Kumho 712 level, but not those tires) for like 60-80 each installed. OR if i swap my rear 212's so that the outsides (barely worn at all) are now the insides and i wear them "back to even" and put some new RS Z212's on the front (200 installed). I'm just not sure if it is safe to "invert" tires like that if I haven't kept to a normal tire rotation schedule (wanted to kill the shitty stock front tires first). Let me know if you think it is safe or not. |
if they're not directional tires it shouldn't be an issue i don't guess
I'm not saying direct rotation by simpilly swapping wheels. I'm talking about removing them off the rim, and putting them on a wheel from the other side.. the RS Z212 ARE directional.

I'd remount, done it before without any issues
More importantly it sounds like you have a rear alignment problem.
yea rear aligment owns tires...and camber too lol...ate my tires to shit in 15k....
i say dont be a cheap ass and buy the 4 new tires.... get some ecstas off of tire rack for 50-70 a piece |
remount, save up for a realign.
Its not like i cant afford a realignment. I just want to know if its SAFE to do it. Basically I hate wasting tread if i dont have to
Buy some new ones first, then just go out and tear the living shi*t out of the old ones for a little fun.
You suck, and I voted as such.
