Default 2.3T Xr4 missing like mad!

Hmmm... I was driving home from Arogatos (excuse spelling...haha) and I decided to downshift and get on it a little... i was at 3000rpm in 3rd and went into second and it started to miss...Machine - gun like missing... now i cannot go past 3500 rpm in any gear if i am at more than 1/2 throttle. car idles perfect and will reach any rpm with the clutch depressed. i have all the power i normally have below 3500 at WOT then it starts to miss rapidly. I hit my 16psi boost max and cannot accelerate past that. any help anyone can give me i would certainly appreciate... cant sleep so i will be up for a while. haha if anyone is up at 4:30 in the morning...
thanks in advance
matt

Maybe you post in a tech board asking other people with similar motors to tell you?

I'd vote for vac leak or actually blown off/out stock ic hose.

Default hmmm

sadly as of now i do not have my IC installed. it was (oddly) not an intercooled car from the factory. i have whats called a VAM or vane air meter...kinda like mass air. i know my ignition has never been worked on. the motor only has 70k but it sat for 10 years before i bought it. i dont doubt a leak either. i appreciate all of your help.
