Default ?? about clear coat.

There is a spot of clear coat (about 1.5'' x 3'') that is gone on my tonneu cover of my truck. My question is, can i just spray some more clear coat over top of that or do i have to do any kind of sanding to get a rough surface so it will stick?

if its just a spot...sand it light with 1500grit...do the entire panel and clear the entire panel so you wont have a bad effect. then buff and shine

You want to try not to remove ANY paint at all, jsut rough up the current surface. If you sand lightly and hit it right, youll only need to clear it. 1500/2000grit paper is really hard to go through anything at all with. Just rough it up moderatly with some fine fine paper and clear over that entire panel. Wet sand, forgot to mention that.
