so when i try and turn on the car the starter makes a clicking sound... is this in fact a bad starter or maybe bad battery or alternator. need feedback asap i have to head down to inverness on weds.

 

Push start the car. If it starts that means your starter is bad. Get a volt meter and check your battery. im not sure how to do the altenator.

 

ohhh its definately your starter.. ive had this problem for bout a year.. mostlikely worn out contacts inside your starter.grab a hammer and hit it a few times..will temp fix, but i would suggest getting a new starter

 

take off all three parts and bring them to advanced auto, they can test all of them there

 

what's you battery voltage read btw?

 

the voltage looks to read a little low

 

If you have been trying to start the car and its not starting that will drain your battery (stating the obvious i know).

one more quick question...if you alternator is bad wont the car die shortly after you unhook it from the jumper cables?

 

oh lord... And yes the battery will die since theres no way to recharge it. Although if the car is running then your fine. it just wont restart.
