03 wrx need help!stuck in safe mode!
My buddie pulled the negative battery terminal off of his 03 wrx to reset the computer because the car was low on coolant and the check engine light was on. He filled up the coolant tank and reconected the battery. Now the car runs like shit on top in in boost. It is running way to rich. Is the computer stuck in safe mode? If so how can he correct this to get the car out of safe mode. It ran fine before the battery was disconected. Any help is much appreciated. Does he need to pull the main fuse from the computer to reset the damn thing? I'm a ford guy so i'm not firmilar with Subaru's. Thanks all!

Or any place with an OBDII scanner: Advance Auto Parts, Auto Zone, Pep Boys... Just go to whoever is closer to you, but I'd call them first because for some reason their scanners like to grow legs and wander off. Also tell them what kind of car it is because there are different OBD ports and the adapters like to grow legs as well.

It was an exhaust gasket! The damn thing was loosing boost on top end and making the car run horrible. It's fix'd now. Thank you all for your help.
good to hear its fixed. its always good when its something cheap and easy to fix
