Thumbs up Hyundai Tiburon 03 I4 Turbo Project and Results

Hey everyone, this is about my Hyundai Tiburon 03 I4. Currently, I have been turbo charged over a year now, and what an experience it is to drive a turbo car.

Recently I just met, Detonation, and a nasty meet it was. 3 Pistons are destroyed, and 1 barely holds compression.

Now, my setup has just changed. I am using new, and stronger internals, ported head (intake, exhaust, valves) new wideband kit, etc

Here is shots of my new motor being built (will be done by next week)

I will have pictures of my ROSS forged pistons by tommorow!

Here's a picture of the car awaiting the engine swap

Im glad the dealership agree'd to perform the engine swap, and do the engine rebuild with the parts im providing. The idea that Hyundai is doing the work for me adds an extra piece of mind with my setup knowing its being done right, by the hyundai people themselves. The person working on my car has done many engine rebuilds on Supra's, Honda's, and of course Hyundai's.

The block is cast iron. The Tiburon Beta 2 engine are very strong to begin with. The actual rods themselves are rated up to 450hp (tested and proven in Korea) to give u an idea of the internal durability. The forged pistons im adding with further strengthen the setup as well.

I've heard alot of good things about the BETA 2 engine . It seems it gets a bad rep for being Hyundai but I wish you the best of luck with your build ...

What kind of power were you putting down before? And what are you looking for with the new setup?
