Is it bad to take out the Fender lining?

Default Is it bad to take out the Fender lining?

Obviously its there for a reason, but is it bad/harmful to remove it?
Its all eaten up cause of the ride height in the front..

the rubber on the intake/passenger side was chewed up by my wheels lol didnt affect much just was cautious around puddles

I thought they are use to keep dirt away from areas where you dont want dirt to enter, such as the engine bay!
