duck tape back of air filter
What yall think? I mean how do you know how much air goes in and comes out of the back of the air filter and if you didn't have a back it would go down or out to the side. Hopefully down and the air that is coming in from the sides will help push it down.

What are you saying here? That you have taped off one side of the air filter so the air coming in the other side does not escape but has to go down into the intake? Is that what you're saying? Huh? Is it? Huh? Is that it? Tell me quick. I feel the urge to tape off one of your lungs and see how much better you do in the 100 meter dash.
Ummmm, seriously. Uhhh, yeah, that would work but from your pic, I think you have taped off the wrong side of your filter. From my experience, the air comes in from the other side where the filter is up against the motor and other stuff. The air is moving slower because of all the crowding so it gets sucked into the intake easier. The side you taped is the clear side. There's no restrictions on the air's movement there so it can just fly right on by and miss your intake altogether. Peel the tape off and put it on the other side.
