Default how to quiet and engine

I know this hasn't been addressed when you are building performance but what would help you quiet down the engine

I am trying to quiet my generator for running at the tracks

any suggestions?

thanks in advanced

If you're talking about exhaust noise then do what was said, get a silencer, if you're talking about ENGINE noise, internals and what not, use thicker oil.
