Default compression

1) if i have a n/a bone stock car, and usually drive it hard sometimes (like shifting about 500-1000 rpm before redline) is that going to do any harm to the engine or transmission?

2) and could that make you look engine compression in the long run, if not, then what would make you loose compression?

For the love of God, it's LOSE, stop saying loose, it makes you look retarded.

People with loose cars lose races...there, proper use of both words.

Answers:

1) If the car is designed properly, and you maintain it properly, then driving it hard will not kill it that much. That said, abuse will kill any car. Don't run to redline everytime you hit the gas pedal and the car will be there when you need it.

2) Losing compression can take place from MANY factors. The main reasons for slow loss of compression would be worn rings which just happens over time. It's called engine wear. Again, maintain your car properly and you will help it last longer.

If you are concerned about your compression, go get it checked.
