Default Exhaust Ticket Help Really Needed

My friend got a ticket the other day for his exhaust being to loud. He has a 96 ex civc with tanabe racing medallion exhaust. He said he was sitting at the light when a cop pulled up next to him. He said the light turned green and he slowly pulled forward (not wanting to get a ticket). He said the cop immediately pulled behind him and turned his lights on. The cop wrote him a ticket and then told him “this is my number one ticket I give out, and I never loose so don’t bother fighting it”. Does anyone know much about this statute and does anyone know how to fight it? All suggestions would be greatly appreciated! thanks

well... just so he'll stop bothering with this post and it'll fall away and never be seen again... he won't lose the fight since the law states that the exhaust must have been read by a decibal meter at the sight of the ticketing... or checked for a cat (emissions) but just for "illegal" exhaust.... he'll win all day since have these jackoff cops don't have a decibal meter meaning no can do on proving the ticket... i love my greddy evo... 50 state legal... yea i have a nice sexy little document i keep with me at all times... and rub it all up in the cops face and ass hole and whatever else i wish to rub it in.... so ya.... fight that SHIT!!!!!!!!!!

I managed to get around for a while with no muffler on the wagon...but damn was it loud. VERY surprised I didn't get pulled over.

was it a state trooper?

cause theres this JACK ASS ST rolling around largo area ....pulling people over just the way you described "@ a light" as you pull away, immediately he pulls you over.

hes all talk...and its not a fix it ticket...you will have to pay regardless

take it to clearwater court...judge is soo lienant

make up a story like "i bought the car like that and i dont like the sound either....and youve been saving up for a stock one and its fixed now or some shit"

If you think a cop or a judge gives a shit about you 50 state legal document then you are wrong. I'd bring in the KY to the court room because you will need it.

Agreed. The Tanabe Racing Medallion isn't exactly quiet either.

he got the ticket on fowler...and he actually did purchase the car from the dealership with the exhaust. Is it worth fighting, does anyone know the court cost for fighting and winning/losing?
Sorry bout the cross post, its just that my friend really needs to know if he fights the ticket if he can win or not. Plus it would be nice to shout a big "in your face you anti-import pig"
