Default Manual steering rack questions

Doing a search says the zone or advance may carry the Cardone one for a FOX body. What year came with one? Or better yet.. anyone have a part number for one.

Or is the flaming river piece the only one?

EDIT.. Ohh boy.. I just went to the flaming river website. There are 20:1, 15:1, long pinion.. short pinion..

To convert from power to manual.. what is the procedure.. without having to buy the farm

Could always loop the lines on your stock one for a "cheap manual rack".

79-81 had manual racks. You will need to weld tho, the shafts are 2 different sizes power vs. manual.

Agree, but the way he talked, he wanted cheaper route. I just bought a FR rack kit for 189$ shipped through my buddy Art(JDsPerformance) on corral. But I am going to have to make my own steering shaft....they want almost 300$ for the shaft kit needed for my SN95!

Dude.. everytime I want to make a change its a fight all the way to the finish. The Flaming river piece with tie rods = 450 plus the alignment.. and install.. The alternator relocation kit is 150 plus the belt..

You'd figure since they make the shaft, they could make it easier for swaps and conversions.. not the case.. its all about the $$$.

I too saw a manual rack on ebay for 160 plus the ride.. but it needs a lot of other parts/welding to get it to fit. I dont know I want welded pieces on my steering

I always used the 79 manual rack like trouble said.... but you can buy the flange from flaming river so you dont have to weld anything up... If i remember the flange is like $70

hope this helps!
