Took it to macco on 5th ave s the guy said he could do but never got to it wanted to keep another day blew me off for the big jobs. LOL the "overdrive lever" (passing gear lever) dont hook to the shifter, it has a rod that goes from that lever to the carb. The outside linkage on the tranny is your shift lever

I know which one is the over drive lever and shift ... My problem is that I cant get the dam thing off ... the Z-gate instruction suck ... from what i see and Ive done I havent been able to pull it off ... Iam not that experinced with tranys. Correct me if I am wrong I need a new lever so that it will fit or I am a dum ass and there a special way to take it off that I dont know. to add to my flustration its a odd ball c4 that looks more like a c6 as the instructions and mounting hardware would work ... Have few tell me its a c3 but there not sure. I dont want to take it to someone thats going to rape me with some made up bull shit... I have the shifter mounted in the car no problem just getting it attached to the other end is kill me ....

Def take it to a shop! Unless you have something special, there is no overdrive lever! That is for the passing gear, and unless you swap the valvebody to a performance one, dont take it off or you"ll be looking for a transmission builder

If removed, I guess you could call it an " o shit" lever

you do realize the c-4 is a 3 speed and NOT an overdrive, right?
