starter ???

Default starter ???

ok every once in a while when i go to start my car it stays engaged even once it starts and even when i turn the car off. so the only thing i could think to do is keep turnin it on and off ti ll it stops. so far its done it 3 times

i think its the starter but would like to hear your guys opinions

starter solenoid on drivers side inner fender. don't replace it with a crappy auto parts store part either. go to the dealer or find a factory starter solenoid at the junkyard.

how much do they usually run for, for a good one from ford?

$13 from parts store, or about $20 from Ford IIRC. I always just get one from the parts store. If it sticks again, hit it on the top of it with a screwdriver or plyers or something. Also, I know that when my battery is going dead, it will cause the solenoid to stick also.

well i have a brand new optima red top,so i know its not the battery

Bad connections will cause similar symptoms as a dead battery.
