Default carb throttle ball question?

I just put an Edelbrock 600 carb on the '65 falcon....discovered that the throttle ball that links the linkage to the throttle doesn't fit as it is too big....apparantly they just make it for the chevy's and not for fords to fit....called up edelbrock and they told me to go to a hardware store and pretty much ghetto it for a few bucks....has anyone else had this problem? I have tried other throttle balls from the speed shops, etc and they don't fit

Switch to a lokar cable and you won't have that problem anymore.

Automotive Engineering stocks Lokar too, if you want to get it locally.
