Jason, do you have power to the wire going to the coil?

if so the coil is bad

if not, check the ecm relay

I had a problem with the fuel pump continuoulsy running and the car wouldnt fire. There was no pulse to the injectors. The computer was not grounding which was causing the injectors not to pulse. I swapped the comp and the car started right up. Not sure if the coil had any spark but I believe it did.

Not sure if yours is doing anything similar but just thought this might help.

Also possibly the inertia swtich? (If 86 had them?)

Also heard of the TFI module going bad on numerous Mustangs.

what about the solenoid on the drivers side fender? Thats a cheap piece to replace for peace of mind.....

More and more reasons to go to carb when I drop it in the Orange Hatch....

1986 Vert with 85k miles = free
new distributor from Jason = 30.00
leaving 2 lines fromt a burnout across your back yard and then finding out the car has no brakes... priceless.

I can't get over how well this damn thing runs..... no blow-by, kick ass oil pressure.... even has no exhaust for that piss off the neighborhood sound.

I took the old one apart and found that the pickup inside was all jacked up.
