ford 351w using 302 injection?
Im looking to build a mustang, i want to start with a clean shell.. not in the market just yet have to sell the s-10 first. However has anyone done this, or is it even worth it, to run a 351 windsor engine, worked up, good pistons, cam, whole nine yards and run the 302 H.O. injection on it with upgraded injectors, fuel rail, pump and so on. Thus keeping the same wiring harness computer etc? Im a chevy man and i know 305 to 350 swaps are common, and the horsepower and torque gains are huge, but can the same swap be done, 302 to 351... any imput would be useful, and if there's a sticky on this or maybe a website with an answer that anyone knows that would be helpful too. thanks.

Also, you won't be able to use the stock intake, as a 302 block has a 8.2 deck height and the 351 Windsor has a 9.5. In theory, you could use a stock upper, but there isn't a lower that will fit that specific runner pattern.... that I know of.

You can either use a GT-40 351W lower and a car (302) Gt-40 upper, or buy an aftermarket upper and lower.

whats the round about price on those new and used? Im really hell bent on running the 351 i think it would be a hard runner, with a good cam, headers and proper amount of fuel. They did it with the cobra r's in 1995. How were those??

Also you can get the cheaper 351 Thypoon style intakes for like $350 off ebay and up to $650 for a TFS or Eldebrock.

If you want answers on a 351 in a mustang get in touch with Mark at Just Racin, he's done a bunch of these. He's honest and will answer questions. HE MIGHT NOT TELL YOU WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR BUT HE KNOWS WHAT WORKS AND WHAT DOSENT. HE HAS SAVED ME A BUNCH OF MONEY I WOULD HAVE WASTED. I've known him about ten years. 813-982-9123. The 351 is a kick ass swap. Ford has almost everything you will need, even pully brackets so all the orginal 5.0 accessories transfer right over. I think you'll need to widen the crossovers on the stock fuel rails, the 351 intake is wider. It wont be painless, but you can make it come out looking like it came in the car. Good luck.
