'06 Saleen to have Glass Roof!
Pretty damn cool. I know CDC (Classic Design Concepts) had this on their SEMA show car well over a year ago and have been holding off on selling the kit to the general public. I guess this explains why they put a hold on production:
(Info found on Focaljet.com) http://i1.tinypic.com/nxqpnq.jpg The Saleen S281 4.6-liter, three-valve supercharged coupe with the V8 engine gets bumped to 435 horsepower for the 2006 model year, an increase of 35 hp over the 2005 model, the company said Wednesday. The 2006 Saleen S281 3 Valve's 4.6-liter, single-overhead-cam V8 makes 330 hp, an increase of 5 horsepower over the previous model. The Saleen 281 with the Racecraft suspension has a base price of $42,281. The S281 supercharged coupe is priced at $51,102 and the S281 supercharged convertible starts at $55,989, the specialty manufacturer said. The company also has introduced its 2006 "cool tops" line, including the 2006 Saleen Speedster, which is equipped with a sport bar and a tonneau. It will be available by November. The 2006 S281 coupe can be equipped with the new Saleen "scenic roof," a moonroof that extends from the windshield to the back window. That will be in production by January, the company said. http://www.mustangheaven.com/stangsp.../2006_info.htm http://i1.tinypic.com/nxqubk.jpg |
bad ass but thats a lot of lost chassis stiffening
|
i bet that is going to be expensive to replace when it gets cracked or busted.
|
looks great. gonna be hot as hell in the July Florida sun!
|
Can you say.... sunburnt head for the bald lawyers who can afford it.....

here is the 2 year old press release from classichttp://www.classicdesignconcepts.com..._news_036.html

pretty badass. And if you can afford one, you can afford a set of subframe connectors to stiffen the chassis back up. And you can afford to tint it as well. I like it.
|
Imagine having one o fthose cars at the track that made 500-600 hp.. Can you say cracked roof from body twist.
It has to have some UV tinting within the glass to keep heat and sunburns to a minimum. Maybe they have a sun shade you can pull ? |

I think it will be an awesome hit though.. It will probably come with some sort of chassis stiffening already, I HOPE! |
Saw an 05 Saleen, so sexy... I love the taillights on them too.
