Red - Grey interior swap

I've been out of the game so long I dont remember how much this swap costs..

I found a GT I'm really interested in.. everything matches up besides the color the interior :(

anyways specs on GT..

BBK shortys
BBK o/r H
Flowmasters dumped
3.73's
pro5.0
bbk CAI
bronson mods/rigging
4inch cowl
17inch cobras 275's out back
subframes
lowering springs

its a white GT with 88k miles 5spd... mods are really similar to my old one but less miles.

I want to swap grey interior though with the tweed seats..

the hardest part is finding the complete interior to swap. I changed from blue to red in the coupe and it wasn't bad. I have the red tweed seats in a coupe, I know you may not like red but again it isn't bad, just a day or a saturday.

Getting rid of the porno red huh?

allibabba 10-21-2005 11:44 AM

Porno red rocks!

not really, but it does look clean longer. Maybe because it hurts your eyes looking at it.

I actually didn't mind the red too much when the top half of the dash was black/charcoal like the grey and tan interiors.

I'm sure you could piece yourself together an entire grey interior after a few trips to Cophers. There are TONS of Foxbodies at any given Copher U-Pull-It. Craig and I saw was a 4-banger coupe with absolutely perfect grey interior about 3-4 months ago.

Based on the pricing from Cophers for various interior parts for my old 240, I'm betting you could get a complete grey interior with seats for well under $500. :mullet:

Blue Oval Corral is also a good spot for interior parts.

Thanks, they seem to stay clean when you live in Bumfu**istan and the car is in St. Pete.

The problem with that is there are like 6 shades of grey interior over the years. You'd almost have to get everything out of one car to get the right look. Me personally? If this isnt' an every day driver. I'd paint/dye the red interior black. Looks way cool, easy, and cheap.

Stewart Scott 10-21-2005 01:39 PM

+1 on the paint and dye. I had to paint a dash I got for my GT and it was grey to start. I got some interior paint for my year (Canyon Red) from 5.0 resto and used laquer thinner, scuff pad and heat and man does it look good. Can't tell it is painted, looks real nice no more splits and chunks of dash comming out of the speaker holes, it looks really close to new. If you do it right you can make it look good no matter what color combo.
