Sounds about right to me... mine actually ran 9.6 on stock tires with a 2.3 60ft.

With sticky tires and a gear... also was at a measely 186rwhp/240tq, it ran 8.80s.

I took my truck to Sunshine tonight and ran it a few time playing with my tuner to see how it ran differently and was trying to see what other cars ran stock.

I had 1 coil that was almost all the way gone, another was testing weak. PLUS... My tires were so bald, I was launching at 1500 on the track. Now, same tires I can do 2000 on the street easy.
