Messed up my t-5
Last night at the track I hurt something in my tranny. I'm not sure what it is and figured if I explained what it is doing I can get some responses.
First of the tranny has like 10k on it max since the rebuild. It goes into all the gears but when I put it in 4th it doesn't always want to let me shift into the next gear. Feels like the shifter is just stuck in place when this happens. If i try to move it and have the clutch pedal on the floor then it makes some grinding noises. Think I might have killed a shift fork or something?
Car has the stock hurst shifter dont think it has stops.
Also how hard is it to rebuild a t-5? I'm considering doing one myself.
Thanks

Actually have to send this to the top before it hits page 2. Scott is right about this forum growing.

yeah going to go with detents also. gm calls then keys for some reason but either way there like 3$ each and there's 3 of them
just get a book and do it your self. it will save you alot of money in the long run of owning a 5t

So even if it's either of the two it's something that I myself can fix?
I thought about a bent shift fork but am not really sure how hard they are to take out or reinstall. I'm 100% game for doing the repair myself as long as it's not going to be something that needs to have a pro do it.
Thanks for the replies so far any more input is always welcome.

Yeah I got some good passes on it. When the car sticks it just goes faster and faster each time out. The best mph in over 90 so i'm pretty happy with what it's doing performance wise but at the same time i'm going to upgrade somethings while the tranny is out.
