Default ford pro's..check this

i picked up a rear off a guy i know.he said it has auburn 31 spline axels, auburn posi unit,c-clip eliminators, and 4:10 gears.i took a few pics under the cover just to inspect, and i was wondering if the auburn posi looks like this.ther are also some marks on it(grinding),i was wondering what they were from.

and also what would be a good price for the rear?i paid $500.00

Yeah thats an auburn unit, but whoever set the pinion shim fucked that bitch up, or they did not compress the crush collar well enough, with the looks of the pinion marks on the differential, you might need to pressure wash the whole thing to get all the metal out of it. 500.00 is a pretty good deal, but they damage might be worth another couple of hundred dollars.

$500 is a good deal, it looks like the damage is from something previous, unless it has been sitting exposed for a while and thats why it rusted, but even then it wouldnt really rust like that unless it had all the oil cleaned off of it, it is an auburn type unit, yes it has c-clip eliminators, yes 4.10 gear, but i dont think auburn makes axles??? maybe moser, strange, ford motorsport or superior axles......
