What are you doing / have for a rear end. We are ready for alot of rear end work and would like to put rear discs on 9 inch end caps with a welded up 8.8. What are you using? Thanks. Trying to find the best path with the least $$$. I find rear ends are $700 - $7000.

Fronts get useless @ 150+ and they make the rear wave. With rear discs, like the chute - rear brake application pulls the car to a stop straight. The choice is race brakes ($420) or dual caliper street breaks ($600). I was talking to a guy who runs 7.70 and he uses teh street because he has a turbo and needs to load the motor, but he thinks I can get away with race brakes.

Rear end I think are the hardest things to build since there are 100 directions you can go. Thanks for your input.

Scott, get the rear discs.. Trust me on this...
Just went from drum to disc right before the 8.65 pass and glad that I did..
You're going to probably make some serious top end with that thing and you'll want to be able to stop just as well...

you'd be better off getting better pads for the front and spending the coin on the rears..

Strong front brakes make the rear wag. At 150 wag is no fun.
