Default Ford 500 first thoughts

Drove pretty nice. Not bad for a 25k sedan. Reminded me of driving a Lexus or high end car. Lots of room and smooth ride. The CVT transmission is very very smooth, barely felt it changing at all. The six speed auto wasn't too bad either. Looks like they may sell alot if there are no real problems.

Nice cars but they have such a generic style. Would have been nice to see RWD and something a bit more powerful to compete with the 300C.

Please tell me they are firing their design team and hiring one who isn't so damn conservative. Even the new Focus took a step back into the generic styling. The new SUV based on the same platform as the 500 also looks generic/uninspiring.

I haven't driven one yet, but I do like the looks. I will wait for a little bit, but it does have my interest. I also was looking at the motor and realized that I would only be changing three of those spark plugs!

Doubtful on the recalls since Ford has started nit picking every new unit they produce (ie the F150, Expedition, T-Bird, and the 500). The T-birds set at the railheads for weeks just so engineers could give last minute inspections on them, and that was a vehicle the was basically a Lincoln LS with a different body.
