Default Transmission Bolts

I'm having huge drivetrain issues with the Escort. The trans to engine bolts keep coming out or breaking off. It's getting ridiculous. I had to retighten them about once a month, so I tried loctite and they broke off. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I'm about to get some hardened bolts and some loctite and see if I can't break a bellhousing

Hardened bolts should do the trick.

try out Tri City Bolts, they have everything from fasteners to nuts and bolts. get some grade 8 shit i guess. they are off of US 19, towards St Pete i believe.

i think they are past East Bay Drive going south on the right hand side of the road. they have the most off the wall shit you never knew existed to your everyday sizes and usage bolts.

Thanks I'll check it out when I'm visiting the GF's . Usually I get all my bolts from Tractor Supply Company.

no problem, good luck with it.

i know when i had problems, it was the only place that had them. but it wasnt for a car, it was for a attic roof problem.

a guy in my neighborhood has a lowered S-10 and silverado. tehy were the only place that had U hooks big enough for the trucks. the peices that came with the kit rusted and looked like shit, so we got stainless ones and they look great.

good luck with it!

+1 on Tri City Bolt. Pinellas Fastener is also a great place, but they have fickle hours of operation. Either way just go in there with one of your bolts and they'll find an equivalent of differing material.

I didn't have this problem until I had the ingenious idea of making semi solid motor mounts out of polyureathane filler thanks guys.

Weird. Never heard of this problem caused by the mounts. Are you running the same material on all mounts, or just one?
