Default Someone please help me....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, today i did my very first tranny swap. But when i got finished something wasnt right. When i put the new tranny in gear, it wouldnt move when i let the clutch out. I could release it all the way and nothing. When i shut the car off and put it in gear, it would still roll. What the hell is going on? Did i maybe put the clutch in wrong? When i have the car running and let the clutch out i can barely hear it, it sounds like its not engaging all the way. Thats the only thing i can think of that would have happened. But hell, i have no clue. I have never changed a clutch or tranny before so i dont know what to do. This was done on a 87 Mustang 5.0. Please someone tell me what could have went wrong... Thanks

If you have an adjustable clutch cable, make sure its not too tight - this could keep the clutch from engaging.

The fact that you can get it in gear with the engine running shows that it thinks the pedal is pressed.

Fordified, thanks for the advice bro. I juust got off the phone with a guy at the tranny shop we use and he said the same thing. As soon as i started the car and this happened, i knew it was all coming back out again. But its cool, not like i have anything else to be doing. Cant go back to work without my car cause i travel alot and i use this car. But its ok, it will be back up and running on Sunday... thanks again for the advice...

thats what i thought also, so i got under there and took off the cable, and stil the same thing.

I remember when i took it all off i stuck my hand in there and the disk was loose. But when i put it all back on the disk was tight against the flywheel i think. I dont know, but im gonna take it apart again and fix it right this time. thanks for the responce guys...
