Getting rims widened?

Where is there a place where I can get my rims widened? Anyone know? They are 96-98 GT rims. 17x8. I wanna get front widened to 17x9 and back to 17x10.5

There is no place locally, but if you search on the corral.net there is about a billion threads about it and links. Iwanna get 99 cobra for my car and have the rears widened to 10"

a buddy of mine has a rather large truck and he has 54's and they r mounted on tractor rims....the rims were cut down to a mere 22" WIDE(i think)....so i assume if u can have them cut...u can have them WIDENED....right? he got it done at Big Boyz Toyz in tarpon. hope that helps

There are definately places out there that widen rims, but the rim probably won't be as rigid as it was before.

whats the point in widening a stock rim? they r heavy, and 90% of the time....not to attractive to start with.

I wanted to have mine widened because I really liked the look of my stock rims but I love how my car looks with 315's on the back which I cant have with stock size rims it would also make the car appear alittle more stock.

sell yours and buy an aftermarket wheel of the size that you want...you'll be better off that way..

Thats the problem, they dont make the OEM rims no wider than 8" usually unless its Cobra Rs. At one time I was considering getting the Pony R rims and have the rears widen to 10"

Usually when a wheel is widened they cut the inside part off and weld on a section from a wider wheel, they don't actually splice into your stock wheel. They are just as strong if not stronger than stock, but can get expensive. There is a company in South Florida that does this.
