Default PI Heads.... need some info.....

Ok I have a buddy who has a 98 Gt and he wants to put the PI heads and intake setup on it. Where is the cheapest/best place to get everything? Links or phone will help most.

Also, some that I have talked to said that it would be more cost effective to just get a PI motor and swap it in. What vehicles should I look in and what is a reasonable price?

Thanks

Do you own a Torch Red FRC and tremble every time you drive under I75 on Hwy 60 and look in your rearview mirror? If so you are suffering from what is known as Cobraphobia.

888 FORD SVT.
Ask for Joe. $1320 shipped

This is what is needed.
PI HEADS
A GASKET KIT(INCLUDES HEAD GASKETS,INTAKE GASKETS,HEAD BOLTS)
CAM GEAR BOLTS(DIFFERENT SIZE THAN IN YOUR CAR)
HEATER HOSE
DIPSTICK TUBE
SPARK PLUGS
99 UP INTAKE(OR BULLITT)

GOOD TIME FOR HEADERS ALSO.
Also its a good time to port the heads or if your doing the bottomend also get good arp head bolts.

Way easier to just swap in a PI motor IMO. They can be had for pretty cheap if you know where to shop around.

I would probably check out ebay, the Corral's classifieds (corral.net) or Mustang Parts Specialties....www.stangparts.com
You can probably find a low mileage one out of a wrecked car for cheap.

i've seen PI heads on corral and ebay for like 300-400

it's to my understanding that 00+ e-150 5.4 conversion vans have the exact same itnernals /w pi heads and gt cams. They did an article about this swap in a 50mustangs magazine probably 3 months ago. Maybe you should lookin into that. I think they came out with 40 more hp and 80lb/ft.

ok guys here is the low down, i done the Pi swap to my 98 GT and no mateer where you go if you can get the kit for about $1300 then that pretty good, but there are a few things to add to the PI heads. buy a set of APR head studs($220) cause eventually you'll prolly pull the heads and port them, with the APR studs you never have to buy heads studs again. also buy Kometic heads gaskets they are bad ass, something about the gaskets they give you and the 98 block they dont fit exactly right and have to be trimmed a lil bit but the Kometic gaskets are good to like 900Hp. i went from about 200rwhp to 257.3rwhp with only the PI swap. also if your wanting to run NOS or a supercharger then you will have to buy dish pistons to bring down the compression, but if this is the only mod then all this shit i worte berfore is completely worthless. i think the compression goes to like 11.5:1 w/o the dish pistons thats ahy i had to put 10cc dish in mine.
