Default time to test the engine

I got a 99 zx2 that has about 60000miles on it. I just got a zex dry kit and was wondering how big or little of a shot I should go? I got a 55, 65, 75, and a 100. I want to start with 55 and let it just get interesting from there.

Put it on the dyno at Coastal and get it tuned and make sure it is safe!!!
Your A/F is too important to let it chance and blow your motor for nothin!!

Wouldn't go over a 75 shot with a dry kit. My friend just blew his Focus motor using the 75 shot with the Compucar "bottle in a bag kit". It quickly reduced his motor to kit form.

well ford says that the motor can handle a 125 shot and my boy ran a 100 shot on his focus for about 4 bottle fillings and nutin. I am going to stick with a 55 shot for now and head over to coastal dyno to get the a/f right, like you said, last thing I need is to blow my motor.

black91gt5.0 do you even know the motor in the Escort? Or are you just basing that off the fact it's a 4cyl? 55shot is easy to handle with the older CVH Escorts. I don't see why the Zetec would be any different. I wouldn't go over a 75 shot without alot of fine tuning and equipment though. 125 shot seems way too high though. Just my opinoin

Running a dry shot on a Focus/ZX2 (or any car for that matter) is just plain nuts. There is no way to crank up the fuel pressure when you are spraying (unless you get a programmable chip, larger injectors, etc)...so basically you push the button and cross your fingers in hopes you don't blow your motor. Trust me, my buddy just took the 75-shot challenge and ended up blowing his motor all over Bithlo speedway not even a week ago.

Why not go with a wet kit? They are pretty cheap and they aren't hard to install, just weld a bung on the end of the fuel rail for the fuel supply. This is the only "safe" way to run nitrous cost effectively with our motors.

well I got bigger injectors in and a larger fuel line, so I am hoping that compensates for the fuel problem, and ANY (for all the a**holes) body that knows me, knows that I have plenty of air going in and out. SO lets just pray. lol, should be ok though, hopefully, key word being HOPE
