Ford officials said warranty reduction efforts were necessary to close the gap with the likes of Toyota Motor Co.p., which spends $300 less per car on warranty costs than Ford, according to meeting minutes obtained by The Detroit News.
It's a shame. They have the ability to build a world class/quality car. Instead, they want to pay less to fix the junk they build.

It gets worse. In order to save 28 cents per vehcile they stopped painting the spring supports under the seats which has resulted in rust coming through.
