More about 87 TC rearend
Well the guy calls me and says rear is pretty rusted to the point it is flaking off. He also says it doesn't have the calipers on it! But he was able to find some calipers off of a Mark8 and he says they match #'s match up. What I want to know is, should I still take it? He's willing to refund my money. But should I take it and have him throw in the master cylinder off the Mark8 or the T-bird? Thanks.

I know of a guy in Temple Terrace that has a TC rear for sale and you could actually see it in person.

And Mark calipers are not the same as TC calipers.
Also, just as an FYI, most people who upgrade to TC brakes don't notice a bit of difference in stopping distance. I wouldn't go through the trouble of swapping rears unless you are looking for:
Repeatable stops (such as very hard street driving or road racing)
Ease of maintenence
Or
Pimp factor

So why go through the trouble of the TC swap? The brackets are different, so are the brake lines and you should chane the master (the Mark calipers are much bigger so you need more fluid capacity). Just save your time and money and do the Mark stuff if thats what you want. NOTHING from the TC brakes will carry over.
