Finally got some 1/4 mi numbers
Went to 1320 tonight. I had to leave early,.. I couldnt stop laughing at some of the cars people were taking down the track. I figured I should go before I insulted anyone. Was a couple quick cars,.. but nothing to really brag about.
I have a long way to go with my ride. There was no track prep,.. and they had no water for the burn out boxes. Trying to do dry burnouts was fun,.. I tried to hit it the first time in 2nd like I would in a normal 'wet' box,.. that didnt go over so well. So I tried first,.. and it literally pushed the skinnies. They would not hold back the ET Streets,.. so I couldnt really get them warmed up.
My first pass I bogged like a mofo off the line,.. then missed 3rd. Still managed a 13.72@108. Then on my second run,.. I didnt even bother trying to do a burn out. Lanched at 4500 to try to avoid bogging and spun half way through first. Felt good once it hooked,.. hit 2nd and 3rd great,.. then dont ask me how,.. but I missed 4th gear. Almost dropped it back down into 2nd. This is my 5th time ever driving the car and 1st time at the track. Still getting a feel for it. Managed a 13.79@96 on that one LoL.
I let the car cool down for 45 mins. Went over to the bleachers and watched a few runs. The bikes were running pretty good. Was a psycho guy on some kind of 2 stroke 4 wheeler with a wheelie bar. He was letting off at the 1/8 and still made a low 11 second pass,.. I was like holy moly thats nuts.
I wanted to get in at least 2 clean runs before I left. So my 3rd run was the best of the night. Rowed all 4 gears good and did a 13.09@109, Shitty 2.0 60's all night and 8.28@86 at the 1/8.
The MPH says this car should be in the 12's. I need to get the car dialed in real bad. Not the ET's I was looking for,.. but the MPH is there so I know the motor is making pretty good power for a little NA 306. My guess is its putting down 335 - 345 at the wheels right now. Pulled hard to about 6000,.. then started to fall off. I think thats the carb doing that. I still have the 600 DP carb on there. I need to get the 650 HP on there and it should pick up a little more and give me 500 more usable RPM.
I think I can get some 11's out of this motor once I get done. The exhaust is wrong,.. no cross over pipe and just tiny little 2.5" straight pipes into 3" bullet mufflers with turn downs. Sounds like a harley when I'm decellerating. Doesnt sound like a Mustang at all,.. LoL. There is at least another 30 - 40 hp to be had in this motor with just minor tweaks and bolt ons here and there.

And I'm sorry for the shitty video quality. It was done with our digital camera. It has no zoom in video mode and doesnt do night shots too well. We are going to try to get a video camera for us as a Christmas gift to each other. Should be able to get some better video then.
Going to head out to Lakeland tomorrow and see if I can do any better there. Hopefully there will be better track prep and at least I'll have a wet burn out box there LoL.

wanna trade ur 600 for a listed 650 thats milled out? sittin on my windsor right now, double feed lines, no choke, not bad runs dude consdiering ur 1st, i stalled my 1st time, the crowd was huge and it was at the club 1320 event, so i paniced, but had fun running the 16 after stalling. lol

Not sure. Would have to look at it first.
Maybe if you wouldnt mind letting me try it out?
My carb is brand new and unmolested,.. I have had bad experiences in the past with used carbs. If your carb works fine,.. then yes I would do the trade.

Nice Jim, some more tweeking and youll get some better numbers... Mines JUST about ready to make a appearance at a track..... Just a few more lil things here and there to do and she will be headin out to the 1/8 or 1320.....I also need to find a trailer that I can use JUST incase!!

it works great, but the jettin was toooo big, i jetted it down, but the bottom ports look to be milled out, cuz from the bottom, it deff dont lookin like not 650. ive only ran the carb personally bout 3 times, i just am stuck on the the 650 is too big for this engine, dont ask y, i just am, im really particular bout fuel delivery systems, i hate runnin gas out the tail pipes and flooding an engine. maybe we could meet up at bradenton motorsports park one time, and u can run it and see how u like it. the jets i put in it r 57s, it had sum like 70s in it.

Mine has 66 jets in it. Thats stock 600. Mechanical secondary and manual choke. I have the choke locked in the open position. Dont use it. I'll be out at Lakeland tonight if you want to stop by. I can try it out and we can swap there. 57 seems kinda small. Even my little 306 seems to be fine on the low end with 66 primary jets and 73 rear,.. but wants a little more on the big end than this 600 can give.
Doing the math I need 633 CFM to run 6500 rpm. So I assume thats why I'm falling short at 6000 with this 600.
If you can make the track let me know when a good time and place to meet up woud be. I live in New Port Richey,.. not far from 54 and 19 area.

im actually in jacksonville til sunday, but we could set something up. with the 57s the windsor runs strong and burns all the gas, were with the other ones, it was runnin gas out the tail.
