more the lack of a decent payscale in Tampa for the engineering community

I got a relo package to move back and a 50% increase in salary over what TECO was paying, which is not really saying much

I do miss 3 Coins Diner and Mr. Dunderbaks

Also it turns out Tampa's cost of living is much more the Richmonds

Mostly it was the 5 minute lights all over Hillsborough county that made me really want to leave.+
What sadist timed the lights around Tampa?

I understand. You have a family. You have to do what's best for them.
These days, people change jobs almost every year, and are usually working themselves up the pay ladder.

There are very few jobs where you can go to work there for life.

Something our parents never told us: Our peak earning years are in our 30's.
After that the company can always hire someone right out of school for less money.

Generally, we should work our butts off during our early years and save enough
so that we will not be hurting in later years. That became real for me when I put a
new roof on my house and paid more for the roof that I paid for the whole house years ago. lol

I'm glad I saved some money. If all a person does these days is support their lifestyle without saving
anything, one day they will have a surprise.
