Hey everyone,
I'm originally from Spring Hill, FL. I enlisted in the Army in 2011. Prior to enlisting I owned 3 DSM's one 95 GS, 98 GST and a 99 GSX. All those cars are gone now, but while I was stationed in Hawaii. I got myself back into the car seen. Bought a 2010 Evo X GSR, and fell in love with the car scene again. In Hawaii, the Evo and DSM community is huge. However, I sold that Evo prior to leaving the Army. Once I got back here to New Port Richey, FL, I bought a 2003 Evo 8. I've only seen a hand full of Evo's in my area and a few in Tampa. I've noticed the community isn't as friendly as it was in Hawaii. Not sure if there's been a falling out or if people just arnt as friendly.

But this is a call out to all Tampa and surrounding areas. If you own an Evo or DSM, lets set up a meet and greet in the near future.

Possibly the Sonic drive-in on Dale Mabry, June 27 @ 7pm?

The Tampa car scene as covered by Tampa Racing.com has changed a bit.
There are fewer brand-specific meets and most people who are really into the scene
are not hung up on a particular car, since some cars have greater or lesser followings
than others. A little like Fast and Furious, Dom's friends were bonded by love of cars
and did not all drive the same kind of car.

The calendar of car meets and other events has about two pages of things to go to.
Some days have 10-30 events listed.

Last Saturday I picked seven things I wanted to go to and Freedom Fest was number eight.
I did not make it to all of them.

Wherever you show up, be respectful of others and you will be accepted. Once you have
met enough owners of your favorite car, that would be a good time to start your own meet.
Be sure to add it to the Tampa Racing.com calendar so that others will know about your meets.

A strong military is why we have the freedom to hang out with car guys at meets.

On the Clearwater side of the bay, Next gen tuning had their anniversary meet.
Under event coverage, you can see a variety of cars.

On the Tampa side, Bay life had 450 cars show up. Food, live bands, etc.

Look for the Takeover at 5100 Waters Ave....a cooler evening meet, usually on Saturday.
When the lot is filled it's about 250 cars, music, vendors, food, giveaways, a great time!

I would like to apologize if I came off as bias. Which it was, I'm just use to the Hawaiian car scene which is divided up into groups. I am very interested in meeting up with all types of car enthusiasts. I appreciate the help and guidance. @senor honda, thank you for the information and patriotism. @niburu thanks for the welcome.

I was wondering about the size of Hawaii compared to the Tampa Bay Area and the number of cars there.

The size of Oahu, is smaller than the size of Pasco County. However, the amount of modified cars is in the thousands. Between locals build their cars and military personnel bringing their cars from the mainland.
