London to Brighton, Sussex. Veteran cars of the 1890's make the journey from London to Brighton. Various shots of the old cars moving off from Hyde Park and going through the streets of London. The headlamp of one of the cars shakes violently as the car comes to a standstill.

LS. The cars stop for a rest at Crawley, Sussex. Two boys helping one of the cars along. Occupants of one car shelter behind an umbrella. Several shots of the cars that stayed on the course driving through the crowds who greet them.

CU. The driver of one of the cars tries to start it by as he swings the handle, a cloud of fumes from the exhaust envelopes him. More shots of the old cars driving through the streets.

Several shots of the horse-drawn carriage advertising Dunlop, bearing the slogan "London to Brighton quicker since Dunlop".

More shots of the old cars driving along road, some stop on side of road and the drivers trying to fix them. Note found in the old record - Cuts 46/93. FILM ID:2144.05
