I think the angles and framing are pretty decent. But I wonder... are they HDR'd? Maybe it's just the tune on my monitor, but a lot of the pics have a pretty severe HDR quality to them.

Yea most of them are three shot handheld hdr's, I figured it would help me get everything exposed the way I wanted it if I did it that way. But I'm open to any advice on the best/easiest way to shoot things like this haha

No real criticism intended...I just found the HDR effect pretty pronounced on my monitor. Some people complain about image quality all of the time (much the way I am with music), but I'm much less critical of image quality than image content in this context (as long as it isn't terrible or overly manipulated).
Take these for example... I got to FixxFest late and started shooting after the sun was already headed down, so the raw images sucked, so I just ran 'em through the "auto levels" in Photoshop and that was it. They're mediocre at best (some are outright terrible), but they serve their purpose:
