Drifting my Firebird

so my firebird has a longing to be sideways so the other day i took it out drifting and the thing is crazy.... it needs some nice suspension upgrades.. but other than that its amazing.. does anyone by any chance know a good american car suspension for drifting? i seriously doubt Tein makes a good set of firebird coilovers lol

Well I do know that Ground Control will make an Advance Design coilover set-up for pretty much any car .

That on the other hand will be quite expsensive .

Hotchkis makes alot of american suspension components alot of Mustang guys and F-Body peeps use this company .

when i had my marquis i had edelbrock shocks with some stiff ass drag springs (bought the springs through jegs)
it wasnt an autocross road race setup but the car was stiff as shit in powerslides with very little body roll

thats about the only info i can give you

AD will run you about $350 a side..making it about the same price as TEIN HE anyway...

soo there you go..

its not that expensive at all.

also

Carrera will do whatever you want with whatever one of their shocks...just take some measurements and let em know what you want...

www.colemanracing.com is good too

HK is prob your best bet..just get one of their G machine suspensions and call it a day.

I run Ground Control parts on my drift Camaro. Custom Length/Rate springs by Suspension Springs Specialists, and Custom valved shortened Carrera dampeners. Most brands out there are good enough for a drift application, though it depends on how you want to tune the car. I would recommend staying away from progressive rate springs. And if the dampeners are adjustable its a plus (you can experiement). Also, make sure your bushings are all in good shape. Makes a big difference hehe.
