Suspended for 2 people or for a 2 seater at a car show?
[h=2]NHRA places Dixon on suspension over 2-seater[/h] Monday, 06 November 2017
http://www.racer.com/components/com_...t_TF_car_1.jpg 3k Shares The NHRA announced that it has placed veteran drag racer Larry Dixon on an indefinite suspension ahead of this weekend's NHRA season finale at Pomona. The move follows Dixon's debut of a two-seat Top Fuel dragster at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas last week. "The NHRA imposed an indefinite suspension of competition privileges against Larry Dixon for violating NHRA Rules, particularly Section 1.3.1 Participant Conduct and 1.6.3 Chassis Inspection of the 2017 NHRA Rulebook," the sanctioning body said in a statement. "NHRA Tech Department discovered the use of a NHRA chassis tag on an unauthorized and unapproved two seat dragster. Any further incidents could result in further action. Larry can appeal the decision, per the 2017 NHRA Rulebook." Dixon, 51, is a 62-time winner in NHRA competition, has not competed in the Mello Yello Drag Racing Series since 2016, although he has raced this year in the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series with the Bartone Brothers Top Alcohol Funny Car. |
Let's ignore that Mario Andretti has a 2 seat INDYCAR when he takes people for demo rides.
Let's ignore that many racing schools and Richard Petty driving schools have 2 seat cars taking people for ride-alongs. |
