Default Drag Racing Series

I'm starting to work on putting together an organized drag racing series with races every month at Sunshine Speedway and if the series gets popular enough doing some races at Bradenton Motorsports Park as well. Let me know if you guys are interested or not.

Have any ideas on classes or anything like that?

Yeah I'm tossing some ideas around for classes but at the moment I'm trying to decide if I should do an sport compact/import only series or a muscle vs. tuner series or imports in one division and tuners in a seperate division. What do you think?

I wouldn't separate muscle and import honestly. It's more interesting seeing different types of cars competing. Maybe just set the classes at an index or look at some of the ways they divide classes like tire size, engine size, or amount of power.

Sounds fun, I'd be willing to come out only if its at Bradenton.

eighth mile, quarter mile, its all the same. It always comes down to that first 60 feet. I see alot of people with quick cars, but the only thing they do is run on the street, I think if we had something set up locally it would do very well. Make the buy ins for the day 50-100 bucks, and set up a bracket, that way there is a little incentive to win. Index classes are a great idea. index classes dont seperate any type of car as they all have the same ET.

Am I the only one that looks at Sunshine 1/8th mile as run down, old, ghetto, not nice, and unprofessional? True your 60ft plays a huge role but there are a lot of cars that chase down when given the extra 1/8th mile. I describe Bradenton as the perfect drag strip and refuse to waste my time on Sunshine. Thats my oppinion though.

They do 1/8th racing at BMP too so it could all go down there.
