12 Year Make OverHowdy all,

GMG2854 is undergoing her 12 year makeover. I'm looking for input on what else should be looked at.

I had a hell of an issue with the brakes for a while, either some extraordinarily stubborn air trapped somewhere or possibly a torn boot in the caliper making the hydraulics act all funky. The remans are cheap enough so I put in new old calipers with pretty new piston boots and bled with a loopback to the MC on each caliper for about a day each.

Completed:
MC/Calipers/Pads/Rotors/Tires

When the tires got mounted they said my tie rods were shot and they would replace them for about $700. I thanked them for the offer and instead elected to buy a set of Moog lower (forward) control arms and proforged tie rods as I had seen a suggestion to do the lowers at the same tie as the tie rods. Front of the car is up in the air and I figured for the price I might as well do the upper control arms and the rearward lowers. I figure i'll go with 1A Auto for these parts, prices are good and they seem to have a good name. Their videos rock as well.

What else should be considered at this point? The car only has about 50k miles on it, but I heard that after the tie rods the control arms go next, for the price figured I'de get em while I'm down there.

I've also got a new set of decals from Rider Graphix. They did a set for me back in 2006ish and they've held up great, but the years are starting to show.

I'll probably replace the rear spoiler at some point as its pretty sun bleached now. I also need to go through and look at weather stripping as the car has seen a bit of water ingress from the sunroof and its peeling from around the doors. Also little bits of the rubbery plastic strips are torn/peeling near the a/b pillars. The strip around the windshield is all sun bleached too.

So! What other parts tend to fail first in these cars? Where else should I look? I'm not looking for expensive upgrades or performance parts.

I'll be searching old threads and will report back if I find anything else, but figured I would ask.
I'll look at swapping the bushings for pedders next time around when I actually upgrade the suspension.

I'm taking lots of pictures and will get them all hosted at some point.

Thanks all,

I've had good luck with Polygraphite bushings from suspension technologies. It saves money if you get the whole set that includes
tierods and everything. For what you already replaced, plastic bag them and put them on the shelf.
Polygraphite lasts at least twice as long as OEM.

honestly 700 would not be a bad price if they replaced everything
I spent over 1000 on mine
but I replaced EVERYTHING all MOOG parts going back in
I did all the tie rods, control rods, ball joints, had a busted motor mount so I got both of them
and the transmission mount, wheel rotors, brake rotors and pads basically every moving part under
the nose of the car, then a wheel alignment later.
