Default This worked best for me.

I had a problem with getting the flywheels bolts out, I wasn't able to keep the flywheel still, while I tried to break loose the bolts.

I did however come up with the simplest way to hold the flywheel.

I used the front motor mount bracket, laid it on the floor, slid it under and into the teeth on the flywheel and turned the bolts, so the teeth were wedged against the mount and it worked great and took me 5 minutes to get all 8 bolts out.

I have a flexpalte and torque converter, so I just remove the oil pan and when I go to take the converter bolts out with a socket it butts up against the block and keeps the flewplate from spinning. Once I have the torque converter off I stick a long bolt or extension through one of the torque converter bolt holes in the flexplate. Then the flexplate won't move when I go to take it off the crank. But thats an auto
