Dont waste your money, save it and buy a better car. A 95 neon is worth what? 500? and your gonna spend 3k+ on a new motor and install and still be slow, see where im going?

watch wtf you say, how about a neon owner speaking up here...a 1st gen WILL be faster than a SRT with the same engine...but they are right...you will spend $3000 to get there...but you will also be looking at low 13 second 1/4 mile times with a stock SRT4 engine...a stage 3 SRT engine in a 1st gen should be capable of 10 second 1/4 mile times with some decent ruber and a good driver, all for under $8000...beat that with a $40k corvette(or a $20k SRT4) but if you want a warranty, well you're SOL with a 1st gen neon

well dam, i was selling my 1st gen with a 2.0 dohc that could easily beat a srt-4 for 5,000 with about 7,000 in aftermarket parts alone and no one wanted it. neons.org has everything you will want. just make shure you leave it stock and drop in a turbo 2.4 and you set to run pretty quick. my car has a stock bottom end with a built head and a 75 shot and i surprised many people(s2000, new gto's, older stingray corvetts,etc..).. as for a big motor i have seen a supercharged v6 in a neon before

no one would ever expect that motor in a neon. this would kinda be a sleeper...the huge cowl hood would probally be taken for a monster ricer hood rather than one actually covering an obniouxly big motor(for a neon)

skip the srt engine, it is alot easier to just use a stratus 2.4 with srt internals. i have never done the swap but hear electronics wise the srt motor is a pina unless you use all the srt harness computer etc....i think the stratus engine will run with the cars stock dohc harness/computer but dont quote me
