Default MAP sensor troubles.....

I've boosted the car twice and have popped 2 MAP sensors. One each time. I don't know why. The clamp seems to be working right now but now the MAP is shitting out and makes the car die. Anyone help or is it possible to use an SRT MAP sensor and rewire it to work on a 1G?

srt sensors are 3 wire. and 2.25 bar If I remember correctly. If your ECU is calibrated for the same it can work.

What do you mean by popping the map???
If its electrically dying, I'd try taking that clamp off.

The ECU is not calibrated for it.

I think the sensor itself is breaking under the pressure though I don't know why. The car will start and opperate fine under vacuum and then will let me spool to about 5-7psi and then I hit fuel cut and the car dies. I can restart and the idle will get really lumpy and die and will not refire even long enough to pick a gear to move the car with. I reset the ECU and the car will start but then the lumpy idle is back after few seconds and then it will die again. Its throwing a code for the MAP after coming up on pressure once each time. I really wish I could figure it out cause its the only thing from alowing me to test drive my car for the first real time with the turbo setup installed.

Ok heres a simple map test....

pull it from the manifold. Hook up a hand pump to the inlet and pressureize it.
While pressurizing it, make sure the ignition is 'ON' and hook up a Volt meter to the output wire. You should see the V increase and max out at around 4.9v.
If the V gets sporadic, the sensor is prob bad.

Also, do you have the correct 'BAR' rating for the ECU? if the ECU is setup for a 2 bar and you use a 3bar, you'll get issues, but I'm sure you know this already.
