knock in motor
knock in motor what can it b i cann't find it
could be any number of things, we would need more info
it started when i was drive down the road and it got real bad
and here I thought it just started when you were sitting there...what symptoms? where is it coming from? head? block? tranny? we need more info
it sounds like a rod knock but it is not b/c i bought new one and put them it and it is it doing it so i think it is in the head
you do know then just because you replace a rod that was knocking doesnt mean it fixed the problem right? anyway, heres a way to tell, go start your car and while its idling...pull the spark plug from the #1 cylinder if the knocking stops you have a spun rod bearing(repeat this with cylinders #2-4, but be careful, you can get shocked easily if you arent) anyway only disconnect one plug at a time, but like I said if the knocking stops after any cylinder, you have a spun rod bearing, by pulling the plug, you are removing the spark, which takes the load off the piston/rod assembly, chances are if it sounds like a rod knock, then it is, that is assuming you know what a rod knock sounds like
that statement makes no sense. rod knock means one or more of your rods are banging(knocking) against something. so when you say you bought a new one what did you buy?
and dont think where its coming from stick your head in there and listen. first put your ear just above the valve cover, see if its there. then go under the car and listen. where ever its louder that is usually where its at. does the knocking get faster as you rev? |
i will try that thanks
hey that piston in your avatar is the acctual piston i have in my block. its sitting on a black coputer bag in the pic
i bought new rod bearings but i have not really fucked with it
