Michael,
Sometimes when a mfg'er says their springs will lower a car by X amount, it will ...........
IF< IF< IF you buy their springs AND their shocks. Mixing brands and specs doesn't always
work well. That may be your case. If you were in Florida, I could take some precise measurements and we could fix the problem.

A lot of suspension problems are due to a person not understanding how the suspension works or their not being able to precisely measure it. I seem to be the only one on TR who can make the proper precise measurements. The chassis/suspension forum has people who disagreed with me, said that what I did could not be done, and they messed up a car. I feel good that people who once drove Hondas now bring me high end cars now that they have an establishment job and a good income.

If I recall 4 years ago....and a lot of cars since, we solved the problem with a combination of parts.
We set it exactly at the height he wanted. It looked good and it performed good too.
Regrettably the pics have been deleted or I could confirm which car it was.

Since Tien S tech springs and Stagg Struts did not work for you.......
You might try Stagg struts and stock springs.
You might try stock struts and Tien springs.
Presuming parts will interchange......

You should get a camber kit to get rid of the excess negative camber or it will eat the tires.
Too much/too little toe will eat tires even quicker.
The best camber kits are an A-arm with a ball joint that slides inside to outside with slots and four allen screws.....I don't recall the mfg'er. The slots can be filed longer as needed up to where the allen screws won't gain any further adjustment. You might substitute graded bolts for allen screws if you have the clearance.
Adding a washer spreads out the force and will get better grip than just using a bare bolt.

When done, get an alignment. Set the toe to factory specs or to zero toe. A lifetime alignment warranty is a good deal, so you can check it every 6 months or so for free. Don't tell them the car is lowered.
When the tire is vertical, paint a 4" wide band of black on the tread. If the paint wears
away evenly across the tread, that will tell you if the alignment is right for your particular driving style
which varies for each person.

You have my sympathy driving on NYC streets. I remember killer potholes and manhole covers when I was up there. I took some time answering this at no cost. Please keep me posted as to what you found that worked, so that we both will get smarter. Thanks.-Bob
